Thanks, Cjay2!
I just watched this movie for the first time today and I got very emotional with it.
The most difficult aspect for me is the USA opposition to the mission! How dare they try to stop them from going to get the Americans! This is appalling and movies of this nature should be made periodically and diligently to shame the powers that be. We must make them aware that we will remind them as often as necessary of the ones who did not come home so they could have a Senate or Congress to make big bucks with.
There are still even today just over 1900 Americans missing in Southeast Asia but Ladybird Johnson is living well on the money she made off the war in Vietnam. Yes it is all big business and corrupt government, but we should still have the dignity and decency to bring back home ALL Americans even if nothing but the bones to be buried on the homeland.
Let's make another movie about this atrocity and remind the voters of our responsibility to make sure Vietnam never happens again, if we can. I came home from Vietnam but some still have not come home and I honestly can say that I am still not completely home because not all have returned even today.
Bring them ALL home!
