I think this movie is great!
The actors and characters are great, and so is the story. Definitely one of my favorite Vietnam movies.
My other favorites are Hamburger Hill, Platoon, and Fire Base Gloria.
I still would have to say that "Hamburger Hill" was the best ever!!!

I agree this is a very good movie. It seems to be on all the time on AMC...matter of fact it is on right now.
I also feel this is a very under rated film. Rambo, First Blood II owes a great deal to it. This had far more "heart" than Rambo's version. RFB2 was a complete knock off. Just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in.
You got that right. Uncommon Valor has a soul vs. the Rambo movies that seemed to be about body counts only.

Amen. I watched this 3 times in the theater. Once I was all alone in the theater. To me everything that copied it after, both Sly and Chuck's stuff, just paled in comparison. Shoddy knockoffs.
