John Landis' segment is underrated

Sure it's not the greatest segment, but I found it to be much better than "Kick the Can" and Joe Dante's segment. Joe Dante's segment seemed out of place for a TZ episode. George Miller's segment was awesome. It's the best out of all segments in my opinion.

Also, the opening and the ending seems kinda tied together. So is Dan Aykroyd the same character in both segments?

i agree that it's underrated & very good but I also find it too disturbing due to vic morrow & two child extras' tragic deaths on it.

"what do you think of him?"
"i think he's a *beep* peasant!"

see you at the movies baby...

John Landis's wrap around story was great. It was "Really Scary" when the hitchhiker turned into a monster. THEN, when THE HITCHIKER shows up at the end of the film driving the Ambulance... seeing John Lithgow's character's face when asked if he wants to "See Something Really Scary?" was priceless.

I agree that John Landis' main segment is underrated. I thought it was very good... I have heard the original ending was supposed to redeem Vic Morrow's Character, and that might have been fine... But, I kind of like how the character got his comeuppance in the end.

I think Steven Spielberg's "Kick The Can" segment fits better with the show "Amazing Stories". Now that one definitely felt out of place in this film. Interestingly, "Amazing Stories" was a Steven Spielberg project.

Joe Dante's segment, "It's a Good Life", was a story that was originally done in the TV Series... I am not sure what to think about that one. It seems a bit "cartoonish", no pun intended, to take that segment seriously as something scary. Although that demonic bunny that gets pulled out of the hat, still scares me a bit to this day...

With the Wrap around story, and "Nightmare At 20,000", you get the feeling this movie should be a horror movie, and the middle two segments just don't fit at all.

George Miller's segment "Nightmare At 20,000", is the best segment in my opinion. That story was originally done in the TV Series too... However, the version seen in the film, was such a "Big Budget" and Flashy production, I think it was a missed opportunity for being set a side for being used in an entire movie all by itself.

I would have like to have seen the NTSB, FBI, and so on, trying to understand why there were earlier plane crashes... Then show what we saw in the movie... Then after John Lithgow's character tells everyone what happened, the governments of the world have to figure out how to stop these creatures.

I liked Dantes's segment, found it pretty creepy, we didn't know what would happen to the lady after seeing his sister with no mouth all messed up, it did end a bit too cheery, but it held lot's of creepiness for me.

Dante's segment was great, only Miller's was better.
