what time of day did the attack take place

I've been having trouble trying to figure out what time the attack happened though I think it had to be around the 4 00 hour for these reasons

1) from What Tom Weatherly said he was leaving at 3 30 and be home by five and

2) School had let out for the day as Carol, Mary Elizabeth, Brad, and Scottie were all home when IT happened

reply

My best guess is that it happened between lunch and supper time.

Agreed, around 4:00pm.

Carol wrote a note for her husband and it said '5.15 PM' so the attack probably occurred between 4 and 5 PM.

As I recall (from back in the day when my son used to watch it) that's when "Sesame Street" was on, but on the East coast. The crisis in the film started--- if you noticed--- sometime during a broadcast of SS (I well remember the oft-repeated classic "fishing for the Alphabet" segment that was interrupted) but I thought TV programs went on an hour earlier on the West Coast.

BTW, at the time, I found this movie so haunting, that I could never again view "fishing for the Alphabet" without getting anxious and slightly creeped-out.
