The male 'Showgirls'?

Did anyone else see any parallels between this and "Showgirls"? The arrogant, narcissistic lead determined to make it no matter what the cost, the herky-jerky dance numbers featuring gratuitous shots of oily flesh, the choreographer spouting out what it takes to "make it in this town," the dialogue so bad it's irresistible?

You're right. Its Showgirls with a PG certificate.

Exactly! Saw it today and was thinking the same thing. Except Travolta is much hotter than Elizabeth Berkley.

Oh hell no! Showgirls was disgusting! There was not one good thing about it.
That's an insult.

I was thinking something similar. Both Staying Alive and Showgirls are considered such bad movies, and yet I love watching them both, as much as I hesistate to admit it. These 2 movies top the list of guilty pleasures.

okay that's it...there has to be a link between the choreographers...one was trained by the other...or someone putting together "Showgirls" saw this movie or...
