Everything I have ever read about Dorothy suggests that she was very sweet and kind. Her star ascended so quickly, I don't think she had time to take it all in. She was naive and unsophisticated and depended on other people to make her decisions for her. Because she seems to have been impossible to dislike, many people did step in to help her. And she followed all of their suggestions, except the one to stay away from Paul Snider. She was still taking pity on him and still believing she could reason with him when she went to the duplex that day. These were her fatal mistakes. It really is a heartbreaking story.
