It is only a matter of time before this is remade, in real life. Can you see parallels with the Britney/K-Fed saga?

Dorothy Stratten was innocent and naive, her husband was a violent creep who KILLED her, man.

Britney WAS innocent and naive back in the day and now she's batty insane after divorcing a simple simple man who can't rap.

I do believe he really cares for his sons, what father wouldn't? But then again, they're his only meal ticket. If not for those kids, what money would he get out of Twitney? He sure can't make any money with his talent (or lack thereof) in music. Someday, if she croaks herself off, and if the kids were still young, they would get the bulk of her estate and being the father he would have control of the assets. So of course he loves them kids, they're a potential gravy train.
