The score was rather jarring wasn't it.
But how many Star Wars sounds did they use? I counted a few a R2D2 sounds and a bit of Lukes landspeeder in there in the first 15 minutes.
Odd to use such iconic sounds and expect to get away with it.
Elmer Bernstein's score was terrific, a rousing combination of unearthly sounds and swashbuckling adventure. It had a sort of old fashioned Golden Age sound to it, especially the heroic parts. Varese Sarabande released a fantastic CD version several years back, but it's since sold out I believe. Great to have a copy, though.
