Somewhere Tomorrow- from my memory

I saw the movie in 1988- five years after it was shown. I was just 15 then and I was actually trying to rent Somewhere In Time from the video shop but they gave me the wrong film. I went ahead and watched it anyway- and I was glad.

It was a good movie- the plot was not ordinary, and it really touched my heart. I can remember crying afterwards- not because of a sad ending, but because of the feel-good twist in the ending. The sound track was also great. I've been looking for this film on video here in our country (Philippines) but couldn't find it. I've requested several video companies to look into the movie because it's really worth having. I'd really love to watch this again.

I also saw the movie when it came out and want to see it again. Sarah did a great job. I don't recall the music but now that you mention it, I'm in a hurry to catch the movie again. Hope you can find it also.

I don't get this part....

How did Terry become alive again?

reply

i can't stand sarah jessica parker, but for the life of me, i can remember a quote from this movie

"The ultimate secret in life is the sheer knowledge of death; for without it, man would not strive to leave his mark upon the earth."

reply

I still don't get how terry becomes alive again

It is my understanding that Terry never actually died. Lori is in the coma because she fell off her horse when she was trying to get help for Terry and Paul. At the end of the movie Terry pretty much explains it.

I just saw this movie on satalite tv. It is really good. I was wondering what happened to Tom Shea too. And also, what did the character Terry mean at the end (and the beginning I think) about Polly (the horse) being good or something like that?

reply

But seriously why would she think he was a ghost? This movie was confusing.

reply

In the beginning of the movie she was watching "Topper" so it could have planted the idea of a ghost in her head.

WOw thanks. It all makes sense now. Oh I love this movie!

One Segment on the Movie when her Mother was in Church getting Married and she had a look on her face and the wind was blowing her hair, why did she rush out of thier when the Ceramony was over running back to her house? And calling shouting Terry's name some how she knew he wasnt thier panicking throught the house realizing Terry was Gone. Wonder how did she know that?

reply

When she was in the church she was in the coma from having fallen off the horse at the begining of the movie. Her coma induced "dream" had the conversation between Terry's friend and his dad, so subconciously in the "dream" she knew that Terry would now be gone forever because his mission was over. He had been sent to her to help her understand that her mom needed to move on and to allow it to happen.
