Children A Lot Younger Than They Should Be?

I haven't seen the movie(i'm holding off till halloween, it's kind of a family tradition we get a "scary" or at the very least "halloween" type movie that we haven't seen and watch it at midnight Oct. 30th, last year we decided on Something Wicked This Way comes) anyway, i did see photos of the boys and they look like 8, not almost 14, are they younger in the movie or was it just bad casting? Thanks

Also, i don't remember it mentioning it in the book but was it really set in the 1930's or was that also something that was added to the movie?

I agree. My class saw it and we all said the kids were way to young. The film wasn't set in the 1930's, nor the book.

The time period is about right. The kids are slightly younger, probably about 12 rather than nearly 14.

But of course thats because hollywood seems to have a great deal of prejudice against 13 to 15 year olds. They always have to make em 16 or over, or 12 or under.
