well i bought the pursuit pack this weekend....i had a hard time finding it after going to several stores.....ive seen the first two movies countless times and remembered vaguely seeing this movie one time back in the day......i remembered that i didnt like it but i watched it tonite hoping i was wrong....this movie SUCKED! This is by God the worst movie i have ever seen besides THEY and GODSEND......the only good part of this movie was by burt reynolds....i enjoyed his lines to buford but other than that this movie was horrible....
The opening montage and ten minutes was pretty funny, but soon turns to crap after Jerry Reed shows up. I've been a big fan of the early '80s black and gold T/As since I was a kid, so that's one of the only reasons I watch it from time to time to concentrate on his car, even though it's slow and weak compared to the '77 in the first one. At least the music was pretty good. "Buford T Justice, fearless law of Texas, man that chased the Bandit coast to coast..."
I've said in a previous post, if they had Burt for the whole film and did a better job with the script and editing, this one would have had the possibility of being pretty good. But alas, it's a total piece of hack work that bombed at the theater...
yeah i actually gave it a chance....your right the first 10 min or of the movie was funny.....the rest was crap....the car was nice but im still a fan of the ones burt drove.....i think this movie would had been better if it were better written and not just thrown together...and of course if burt was in it
I thought the movie was okay but I did like the scenes with Jackie Gleason as Buford T. Justice and Mike Henry as Junior, I thought the Enoses were really annoying and they've gotten a little too much screen time, I didn't care much for Colleen Camp's character either, I still watch this movie mainly for Jackie Gleason's performance as Buford T. Justice.
Plus the Trans Am in this movie was a slow performer and it was one of my least favorite era of the Trans Am's.
when I was a kid, I loved the black/gold early to mid '80s TAs. I didn't know until years later that they were underpowered and slow. They made it out to be fast as hell in this movie
I know that alot of people put in the 350's and 455's in their Trans Am's from the early 1980s cause they add more performance to their cars, I think the 301 Turbo's and the 305 V8's are very slow motors and they were only offered cause of the really bad emissions controls America was facing in the early 1980s, I wished that Cadillac would've put in a 350 V8 instead instead of the 368 V8's to replace the 425 V8's back in 1980 and then sadly in 1982 they had to put in an underpowered 4.1 Liter V8 motor which I thought they should've been ashamed.
