Was that an '82 or an '83? I don't think it was the Recaro edition either. From what I understand, they made the car look a lot faster than it was in real life, the early '80s were a bad time for lots of power in the muscle cars. I think the one in this movie had 165 hp tops. Still, it was a cool looking car!

shareThe car is actually an '83. The t-handle shifter was availiable in '84 and above TA's. I've owned several third gens, especially '84s, and i know my F-bodies quite well. And the TA in the movie was not a Recaro edition. The Recaro edition would have had a rear hatch window wiper option and different seats. These cars are rated at 190 horsepower with the standard 305 engine. Hope this helps you.

shareNot correct, my first car was a mint 1983 TA and it had the T-handle shifter. The car in the movie is a 1982 TA.
