Who sang the song 'Buford T. Justice'?

Who sang the song called "Buford T. Justice"? It was played on the beginning credits and again after they leave the motel with the fish, I thought it was a great song and it was a great way to start off the film.

His name is Ed Bruce, he is a well known recording artist and actor. He hosted the show Truckin' USA on the TNN network in the early 90's and he played the crooked sheriff in "Fire Down Below" with Steven Seagal.

I used to think it was Jerry Reed who did "Buford T. Justice" when I was younger, is the song available outside the film soundtrack?

I do not believe so as I have never seen it elsewhere.

I would really appreciate a copy of that track. Also I am trying to find Bandit Express by Lee Greenwood...any ideas?? Finally got title track from Hooper if you wanted swapsie!!
