Finally Proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Here is a link for the official trailer and it shows in Gleason's own words that he played both Buford T Justice and The Bandit roles and it was originally titled "Smokey is The Bandit, Part 3". Thankfully I saved the video and uploaded it to YouTube.

Dude, validation. At long last!!!!!

Wow. I never thought we would see anything like this. At least we know for sure. Wonder whatever happened to that lost footage....

reply

Im sure it is in the vault at Universal.

The link won't work for me.

Obviously, you're not a golfer!

Actually, I think I've found it! Is this it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu4Ht2opvqY

Odd to see, considering they called it "Smokey IS the Bandit Part 3". And I thought the Rambo titles were confusing.

Obviously, you're not a golfer!

reply

That is it and it is my upload.

Thanks once again! (I replied on the Youtube page under "welshfilmbuff").

THAT....is evidence!

The movie has been removed on the link you provided.
But now that I think of it that title also makes a line in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey make sense. When B+T are in heaven, the scene where the 2 small stations are playing charades with Ben Franklin and Albert Einstein. Einstein's guess was "Smokey and the Bandit 3" then followed with "Smokey is the Bandit"

reply

HAHAHA YES!!! For YEARS that line in B&T's BJ confused me.........but with the backstory of SATB3, it now makes sense, 20 years later. Nice!

I award you no points....and may God have mercy on your soul.

reply

Ha ha . i just watched Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and wondered what that line meant. thanks

Sorry, but your memory is wrong. This movie was originally filmed with Gleason playing both roles, this has been confirmed by Dave Cass-2nd Unit Director and Stuntman on the film.

Didnt you see Bill and Teds 2? they said the same

reply

I remember seeing a trailer for it, and the voiceover said something like "This time, Smokey IS the bandit!" I always wondered about that...I've never seen the movie, but when I met someone many years later I referred to it, and he was very very mystified.
