Sosa's Assassination Scheme Seemed Out Of Character
From the moment we meet him, Sosa comes across as the consummate businessman. Sure, he was ruthless, and would show no mercy to anyone who crossed him, but he still came across as a calculating guy who thought things through and made sound business calls based on sober judgement. He seemed to have the drive that frank lacked, the discipline that Manny lacked, with the cool restraint Tony lacked.
So why the bomb plot?
When he meets tony and shows him the video of the reporter who is talking about him ,he mentions how this guy is going on multiple news channels, and says "It's embarrassing Tony".
So, he is concerned about the public attention this guy is bringing on him?.......and his plan to resolve this is to blow him up on US soil right in front of the UN building when all participants there know he is about to give a speech about Alexander Sosa?????
Yeah, there's a great way to get the publics attention off of you?
Would it not make more sense to hire people to discredit the guy?
Or do like many criminals do, do a public relations campaign, so people think "OK this rogue has probably broken some rules, but he has done amazing charity work in Bolivia, so maybe this reporter is exaggerating"
Or if he must kill the guy, do it out of the pubic eye, but make it look like a robbery gone bad (preferably before the guy left Bolivia)?
No, instead lets have him drive there, with the entire UN assembly waiting to hear him speak about a dangerous drug kingpin called Sosa and says blow him up at the last moment right in front of the building?!?!?!
Even if the little girls never got into the car, this seems like a very reckless move, guaranteed to bring international attention onto him and his partners. This seems inconsistent with his otherwise calculating businessman demeanor.
Am I the only one who has felt this way?
