The main character, or am I confusing it with some other ninja movie?

Sho Kosugi did not eat lollypops in this film or any other character for that matter.

The movie you refer to is 1985's "9 Deaths of the Ninja", starring Sho Kosugi as a character named Spike Shinobi.
