Question . '' is this the best horror sequel ? ''

in every aspect this movie is superior than any horror sequel I've seen .
direction , music , sets , production values , acting and there's a real motivated spirit in it plus they had guts to make a plot twist that actually derives the story from the original and with some miracle it doesn't make you upset .. you just smile and keep watching because you really like the film and it pays enough homage to the original '' one of the greatest movies of all time '' .
I guess of the reasons '' maybe '' that psycho II is not your typical horror sequel disappointment that it wasn't made quickly to grasp quick money after the success of the original .
anyway my question is it the best horror sequel out there ? and what other good horror sequels worth checking ?
the only other horror sequel I liked is halloween II (1980) .
p.s also love psycho III .. has one the most unpredictable openings to a horror sequel .

probably the best. exorcist 3 is awesome to in my opinion. that one is my favorite exorcist movie and it just has a good storyline and one especially scary scene that me and my sister still talk about to this day

Halloween II came out in '81 and is my favorite. But, Psycho II is my #2 horror sequel for sure.

Aside from a few plot holes Psycho II is the best I've seen.

:::SPOILERS:::Well the biggest is when Norman was painting the motel and sees his mother in the window. It should be Lila up there since Mary left with Raymond to go to work and yet later we find out it's Mary that rearranged the room and tricked Norman during that time?? At the same time Spool killed the teenager in the fruit cellar but it would have been more plausible that Lila was indeed tormenting Norman while Mary was away and I don't know if you have a zoom feature on your remote but zoom in on the window and take a good look; the mother in the window looks more like Lila than Mary.

one of the best out of any genre. people don't say godfather 2 is one of the best drama sequels, they just say godfather 2 is one of the best sequels ever. out of respect for horror genre and psycho 2 i'll admit i've seen a lot of sequels in all genres and i'll say its one of the best sequels i've ever seen.

Yeah I'd consider it the best slasher sequel ever as it even stands above HALLOWEEN II & H2O, two other sequels I love more for sentimental reasons. PSYCHO II has it all! I'd usually vote for ALIENS in a survey/poll like this one but that sci-fi/horror hybrid is in a different category. We're just talking slashers here.

Halloween II is good as well, but you should not forget Aliens, which I think was better than the original.

Child's Play 2 is my personal favorite horror sequel, but only because I wouldn't classify Gremlins 2 as proper horror.

Some other memorable ones:

- Basket Case 2

- Critters 2

- Evil Dead 2

- The Curse of Frankenstein

- Dead Snow 2

- The ABCs of Death 2

- The Return of the Living Dead (well, it's *kind of* a sequel  )

- Children of the Damned

Jaws 2 is a good movie. Terminator 2. Aliens.

I'd go with Jason X because its the only sports horror sci fi movie all in one
