Which Is Better: Psycho 2 or 3?

I believe that Psycho 2 has a more layered and plot, however the third has a underlying complex narrative that's done with more simplicity and less leaden that the second. However I found the third to be actually very scary and suspenseful as well as just more interesting. Also, the third has better direction, the music is more effective, and the cinematography is a visual treat; stylish, lush, and inventive. The second films cinematography feels rather uninspired and washed out.

What do you think?

I love every Psycho movie except 3 and the remake. I love Psycho 2 because it was great to see some of the original actors/actresses and it was mysterious and suspensful and almost gets better with every viewing. In my opinion it's the second best horror sequel (after Evil Dead II).

The third one wasnt all that bad but I wouldnt watch it again. Sorta seemed like they only made psycho 3 by popular demand and not desire.

Just got done watching both back to back. Psycho II blew me away.. I thought it was going to be just another sh*tty sequel that muddles on the original film just for money. But it actually turned out to be pretty good. The twists were great and threw me off guard as to who was the real killer. Not to mention that certain feeling it had that resembled the original. All in all a great film and a good sequel.

The third one though... didn't catch my attention that much. It felt too much like a slasher film than a thriller to me. Honestly we could've done without it..

Haven't seen the fourth one but I'm not holding my breath for this one either.

psycho 2 is miles better than 3,3 felt cheap and boring,i did'nt care for it,i think it might of worked had lila or mary being in it to give continunity.

Definitely Psycho II. I liked part 3, but II is my favorite of all the movies.

II had the better story, III is much darker and stranger than II when it comes to Norman Bate's psyche since Anthony Perkins directed III. You see alot more from his point of view in III. Overall I'd say II is slightly better than III but both are good sequels to the original.

I've always liked both films and agree II has a better story
than III. They're definitely better than 4 or the sorry
remake.

I love 'em both, but prefer Psycho III to Psycho II.

Would still probably admit that II has the better story though...
