I vaguely remember watching this movie back in the early 80's and I think it might be Private School. Is this the movie where one of the secondary stars is this big beefy guy who drives around in a trans-am/firebird type sports car. He drives a girl somewhere and she somehow manages to break the passanger seat of his car and he flips out and gets all angry. I know it was an early 80's teen flick with lots of skin and hi-jinks etc. I think it may be this movie.

Well, in this movie Jordan (Betsy Russell) drives a Corvette. ('80 - '82 body style)

You may be thinking of Fast Times @ Ridgemont High. In the movie Forest Whitaker was the star football player who drives a silver Camaro Z28 ('78 - '81 body style). Spicoli (Sean Penn) then takes the car w/o permission & crashes it up after a joyride.
