-Harry Nilsson song is on his greatest hits disk.
-Stray Cats song is on their self titled album.
-Sadly none of the Bill Wray or Phoebe Cates songs are available, but I did get a good mp3 of their duet of "just one touch" from limewire.com. I would love to have "Private School", Bill Wray's solo "just on touch", and the bombastic Phoebe Cates "how do I let you know", I'll just have to pop in the dvd to enjoy this music.
-Rick Springfield song "The American Girl" from the gal's workout scene, which is among one of the best in the movie, is on his album titled Success hasn't spoiled me, one hell of a song and a great album as well.
-Nasty Girl appears on Vanity 6's self titled album.
-I want candy is on the Bow Wow Wow's greatest hits.
-lil red riding hood is on Sam the Sham and the Pharohs greatest hits.
-All the time appears on Earl Klugh's Wishful Thinking album.
-Best years of our lives appears on Modern Romance's platinum collection.
-Da Da Da appears on the comilation disk titled Da da da and includes trio's first two albums.
Take care Private Schoolers, long live.....

I watched Private School the other night and just hearing all of these classic songs brought back some great memories of when I was 11 years old at that time in 1983 when times were a lot simpler and easier than what it is now.

I loved a lot of that music! Thanks for the posting!

you got that right ROBBASE086-1. i wish i could go back to those days. even mcdonalds tasted better...

Plus, back in the 80's they had more family type shows on TV for us all to watch and there are so many of them that I could name off it would take a while to name them.

What is sad is that some of these shows from the 80's are not even out on DVD box set yet and I have some favorite shows that I would love to be able to buy for my personal collection and watch anytime that I want to and not have to worry if I will ever see it in syndication.

A lot of those 80's are not even in syndication at all which is really sad. Yes McDonalds did taste a heck of a lot better than what it does now and the rate of obesity was a lot less than what it is today I hate to say it. Possibly we were a lot more active at that time and I can even remember staying out on Halloween night Trick Or Treating without having to worry about some the problems that we face today in our society.

I even remember getting popcorn balls, caramel apples and other homemade things that people would make for me to eat after trick or treating and I would be out until like after 10 at night getting candy. You do not see that today now. Which is really sad in my opinion.

it seemed like in the 80's everything stayed the same for a while, like we had vcrs, and dvds didnt come out till like 97/98 but technolgy is so fast now. theres way more people in the world today. hell, porns were so underground, but today. millions of girls are doing this for the whole world to see. times have changed no doubt.. at least we got to see it.. plus there wasnt people getting beat up and having it plasterd all over the internet for entertainment

Yes you are very correct about that about the 80's where things stayed the same for a while. Plus, the gang violence was to a minimum in the 80's as well. You did not really hear about shootings until like the late 80's to the early 90's. Yes in the late 90's that is when the DVD's came out. Things are going so fast now with technologies.

You are correct that pornos were underground and was not known about it unless you knew the place to go to purchase them or watch them in the 80's. I was a teenager in 1985 and was not legal to view a porno until I was 18 but my first time watching a porno was when I was 15 years old in Spain on cable TV visiting family there.

Yes million of girls are doing this for the whole world to see and the times have changed a lot since the 80's. Yes fights and all can be posted online now for the whole world to see on Youtube or any other network online. That is just crazy in my opinion.

the problem now is , theres too much of everything... more people, with that causes more chaos. Yeah, if you watch those old commericals on youtube from the 70/80s. things were so much diffrent back then. almost like another world...

i heard and noticed that teens are alot diffrent today then back then...nobody has a childhood anymore. these teens wanna be 21 before they are 10./..

reply

I agree with you about that and the thing is that with all of this reality shows, crime, and drama shows that they have on now sort of makes people want to watch depressing things rather than things that can make you laugh and have a good time these days.

Yes the times have changed from when we were growing up. I notice now that they show more commercials than the actual TV show or the movie that we are watching. That is what I do not like about it.

You are very correct about the teens today want to be adults instead of acting like teenagers and having fun these days.

I just wanted to let you know I have a very treasured copy of the soundtrack on vinyl. It has the 2 Phoebe Cates songs, plus Private School. Not all the songs listed on the imdb songlist are listed though. I can check on that when I get home if you want the full track listing. I found it on ebay like 2 years ago. Sometimes you just have to check, some random time they will have it. Or you should type in Private School soundtrack on google to see who is selling it at that given moment. I highly recommend you do this if you are truly a fan of the movieand/or of the great Phoebe Cates, which I am both of.
This movie and Zapped were two of the first movies I saw on VHS in 1984. I remember them so fondly, a time of my youth I will never forget.
