one of the best of its kind

This show has to be among the top 5 of the 80's T&A movies. Surprisingly strong cast, great soundtrack, lots of nudity, overracting, and stupid hijinks. What more could a guy ask for? And some beautiful horseback riding as well!!

Yeah, I concur to that. Is there anything similar and as good as this one out there?

You forget about Porky's and Revenge Of The Nerds. I am sure there are others that could be named and I think a couple of others are JOCKS and Preppies that you would enjoy from the 80's.

Yes it was one of the best 80's movies to watch! I even loved Tomboy! That is another great movie of Ms. Russells.

Very underrated.

I agree that it is very underrated and a classic to watch from the 80's! I miss this kind of fun where people were a little more open minded and not so "Oh my god my child cannot see this!" That sort of thing or "This cannot be shown on TV at all!"

That is why I enjoyed watching this a laughed a lot as well.

The eighties had many films of this type. Some where excellent and then some were mediocre. Private School is one of the mediocre ones. But to be fair, I was nineteen years old when this film was released and I probably would have enjoyed it much more if I'd seen it at that age. . Strictly for those looking for eighties nostalgia.

I agree with 99% of the people on this thread, Private School is an Excellent 80's film.

I remembered seeing this film on T.V. ... of course edited to the point of WHAT'S THE POINT, but the girl playing Jordan is what I remembered most. She was just too perfect!

Funny thing, I just happened to be at the library and saw "Private School" there. Being a fan of 80's teen comedies I had to check it out!

Jordan Leigh (Betsy Russell) was as hot, well, hotter than I remembered! And having a think for brunettes and brown eyes, the paring of Phoebe Cates and her is too much! It kind of kindle my interest in Mrs. Cates again. She's beyond cute! And I have to say, I was surprised how good Betsy Russel still looks! Talk about winning the genetics pool lottery.

I didn't really think the film was all that funny, just silly plot points to show off Jordan or some perverted high jinks. Maybe it's just me, but it seem like you could only get away with a film like this in the 80's. I love it none the less, though.

I agree. This film is a total blast. Gotta love the choice 80's rock soundtrack. Phoebe Cates was adorable in the lead and Betsy Russell was beyond hot as the sexy, but stuck-up Jordan.

I agree, this movie was the best of the worst genre ever known.

This movie and Spring Break were two of my favourite bad sex comedies from the 80's.

This movie does something wonderful for 40-somethings like me.
It makes me feel young again when I watch.
I know it wasn't great cinema, it wasn't trying to be. It was bawdy and fun and had over the top T & A, and it appealed to my generation. It was escape from essays, mid-term exams, and the reality that I was eventually doomed to adulthood. That was enough for me.

I remember when this movie first came out in the summer of 1983 (I was 15, a rising 10th grader). I did not see it in a theater (though came close to), but I rented it out alot later in the 1980s and watched it on our VCR. And I really liked it, it became one of my all time favorite movies. And it is my favorite of the type of movies you mention here. And I recently got access to DVD, and have brought alot of movies on DVD at various stores. And I went into one two weeks ago, and Private School was in the used comedy section. I was suprised it was there, but also very excited, and immidiently picked it up and brought it. And I have seen it twice on DVD so far, and it is just like I remember and I still really like it.

I agree, just watched this for the first time last night and loved it. The makers of this gem knew who their target audience was and what they wanted and delivered it in spades.
