Sort of a different character than Mr. Hand, isn't it? He wouldn't even have thought of doing this.

Walston was a great character actor who rarely turned down a role he thought would be fun or interesting no matter how small the part or low budget the production.

And as you pointed out, while his role in this movie isn't a major one, he's one of the funniest things about it.
