I'm sure plenty of people have heard of MST, but when you write an entire paragraph that reads, "Add to that an annoying New Age keyboard score, an awful early '80s pop band that gets lost in the woods, and scenes that have more fog than in the movie, well, The Fog, and you have the formula for disaster" it sure doesn't seem like a subtle reference to MST, it seems like a direct ripoff. Even your buddy MovieCritic2004 is guilty of it: "I can hear the director (if there is one): "We paid for the thing, we're gonna film it!"" Oh come on, he didn't "hear" the director saying it, he HEARD Joel say it, and the fact that he puts it in a review for his review website without attribution makes it cheap comedic plagiarism.
And just because you have "experience" as film critics doesn't mean you're necessarily good at it.
