... I hate to be so condescending, but I'm getting kind of tired of people posting their opinions on the "worst movie" ever and then laughing hysterically as they post thinly disguised critiques from the Satelite of Love. Joel and the Bots deserve more respect some cheap line-lifting from a bunch of wannabe critics. GET ORIGINAL OR BE QUIET. Thank you.

Completely understandable, but what I'm against are these schmok's posing as the originators of such witticisms. GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!!! That's all. :)

Hmm, nothing insensitive about this thread, oh no.

Wow, I think you've severely missed the whole point of this board. Do you honestly think anyone here has not heard of MST3K? By that I mean, that they could successfully steal material without everyone else on the board recognizing where it came from.
My God, man! Calm down!
P.S. MovieCritic2004 and I both have experience as film critics, so please, no calling us wannabes.

I'm sure plenty of people have heard of MST, but when you write an entire paragraph that reads, "Add to that an annoying New Age keyboard score, an awful early '80s pop band that gets lost in the woods, and scenes that have more fog than in the movie, well, The Fog, and you have the formula for disaster" it sure doesn't seem like a subtle reference to MST, it seems like a direct ripoff. Even your buddy MovieCritic2004 is guilty of it: "I can hear the director (if there is one): "We paid for the thing, we're gonna film it!"" Oh come on, he didn't "hear" the director saying it, he HEARD Joel say it, and the fact that he puts it in a review for his review website without attribution makes it cheap comedic plagiarism. And just because you have "experience" as film critics doesn't mean you're necessarily good at it.

Okay, in one paragraph I paraphrased information from MST3K. I assumed the people reading it had seen the episode and would appreciate the joke. Obviously I was wrong. That does not negate the whole thread however. I don't recall the episode ever making an argument about the movie being a mix between Alien and E.T.. That was the main point of the thread, and that idea was wholey mine.
And just because you have "experience" as film critics doesn't mean you're necessarily good at it.
Well subtlenuance79, the great thing about criticism is that it's entirely up to the reader to determine how good it is. I suggest you read some of our critiques, they're posted here on the IMDb before determining how good we are.

LOL yet another message board troll, like the internet needs more of them! Just ignore him, he started this thread to get attention. The best part is the passive-aggressive intro, "I hate to be condescending but..." Just can't believe some people.
Why do people think that when they say things like "... I hate to be so condescending, but..." that gives them an excuse to be an ass?
Guess, what? You ARE being condescending and nobody cares for your opinion. This board is just for fun. Nobody is taking credit for the clever lines, they're obviously just quoting their favorite lines.
This movie wouldn't have a message board it it weren't for MST3K.
