How about it? it was suppose to be a violent Sci-fi horror movie where they the aliens aren't our friend but vicious killers but they changed it to cash in on E.T.

That would be awesome.

This film could certainly benefit from a remake. Moreover, a remake could only be an improvement because as we all know it's scientifically impossible to fall off the floor.
