Soundtrack on Bishop of Battle

I remember seeing this flick in the early eighties and wanting the soundtrack really bad. I think it was a bunch of Black Flag tracks and maybe some other punk bands. Never did find it, but would love to see it again. Ebay here I come.....

All I remember is that there were a couple of songs from Lee Ving's band FEAR.

Yeah, I think there was some Fear as well as Black Flag. Is this out on DVD yet?

reply

also a NEGATIVE TREND song-the EP was just reissued on henry rollins label

fear- let's start a war
fear- i don't care about you

Also,

The song where he is walking to the arcade "MERCINARIES" is by RIK L RIK, which I have.

If somehow a few of us can get all the songs together, I would LOVE to have it.

do you by any chance know the name of the song playing when JJ plays the bishop of battle the first time in the movie, the lyrics are something about 'kill for pain, die that way, and about johnnys got his gun in every country' much appreciated

I think its Johnny hit and run by the punk band X.

reply

No, it's Mercenaries by Negative Trend.

yeah I just saw this movie on Universal's HD channel a couple nights ago, and it made me totally think of how repoman era emilio was just so awesome... in any event if anyone has a lead on where to get this soundtrack I would be very happy, because I need something to keep me pumped up while I play galaga

reply

opens with: Fear I dont care about you

JJ plays Pleiades to the tune of: Fear Lets Have A war

JJ plays Bishop in the mall the first time we see it: Rik L Rik(he was in negative trend) Mercenaries

JJ argues with his parents about how bishop of battle is more than a game to the tune of: Black Flag Rise Above

JJ breaks into the arcade for more to the tune of: Rik L Rik Ive Got Power

As a bonus in night of the rat the last part the family is scared when their radio suddenly turns on playing Black Flaf Louie Louie

I have watched this movie a million times the only thing i cant figure out is why it says additional songs by X but there is no X on the soundtrack I have tried to figure out where they are in the movie and there is nothing

An old thread but...

I have been trying to track down this film for years. I saw it ages ago and remember Black Flag and the radio scene, but could never remember the name of the film.

Great stuff!

Let's Have a War is also on the Repo Man soundtrack.

I had the same experience last night. The credits said something about an unidentified song by X, but I hadn't heard anything.

I don't think I'd seen "The Bishop of Battle" in thirty years; quite a strange feeling, like walking into a room you haven't been in for a loooong time, and finding it exactly as you remember it.

Definitely my favourite of the four. Particularly now that I've played "Wizard of Wor", which you can get on a PS3 collection of classic games.
