The best part is when the truck rears up from under the Earth

Me and a friend of mine were discussing horror movies that came out when we were very young and this one came to mind....I was a tom boy as a kid and I've always had a love for fast cars and big trucks...I have to say the part of this film that I remember the most is when the truck comes up from beneath the Earth- as a kid, I thought that was so cool- It helped that I loved the look of the truck as well!

My jaw dropped when I saw that. And I'm a jaded cinophile!

Great, GREAT scene.

When I managed to finally get my hands on this a few years ago on DVD, I called my Dad (who's near 70 yrs old) and asked him if he remembered the film at all (we had seen it together back when it first came out on video tape - so needless to say memories would be fuzzy).

His response: "Was that the one where the truck came out of the ground??"

That scene actually gave me nightmares as a kid believe it or not. I guess it was a rather grotesque scene back then and I was scared of black trucks for the longest time ((I was only four then lol)) But now when I watch it im like why was I scared of this before? Its freaking awesome lol. That devil truck should get a spin-off sequel or something :D

Me too! I was expecting that story to be like "Duel" or "Maximum Overdrive."

I played that part twice, I liked it so much. Pretty damned good FX for the time, too.

Yeah that was awesome. The best scene in that particular story and really made it great. And Chuck Norris did the same thing, the same year, in LONE WOLF McQUADE but it was a different situation: more of a heroic, strategic scene than a nightmarish image.
