Remake
I think Bond 24 should be a remake of this movie. Anybody else agree?
shareDo you mean Thunderball?
shareWhy...you are a fan of constantly regurgitating the plot of Thunderball over and over again?

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
Nah. There are more original villain schemes the Bond screenwriter(s) can come up with than just blackmailing the U.S. government (and NATO) over stolen nuclear warheads, and if they don't play the ransom, a major city in the West gets destroyed.
This is my signature. Take it or leave it.
As much as I like NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN, and as fun as the unproduced "WARHEAD" script might have been, I don't want to see anymore Bond films remade. There are far too many Bond novels left to adapt to want to resort to remakes. For instance, MOONRAKER is apparently nothing like the book, so maybe take a crack at that, but change the title obviously. Not to mention the countless non-Fleming books that Eon has no real reason to avoid adapting.

Kevin McClory actually wanted to remake Never Say Never Again. After he saw the box-office returns of The World Is Not Enough he expressed interest in remaking this possibly titled Warhead 2000 starring Timothy Dalton or Liam Neeson. If Timothy Dalton had starred in that unmade unofficial James Bond movie it would probably be one of my favorite Bonds. He is definately my favorite James Bond.
Lazenby, Dalton & Craig EXCEPT NO Substitutes!

It would have been a pipe dream anyway. McClory was always vocal about wanting to make Bond films but could never get them off the ground. He failed to get funding for the original version of Thunderball back in the 50s which led to Fleming turning it into a novel instead, he only got Thunderball '65 made by getting into bed with Eon, he started the process of making another version in 1975 but when he got too ambitious and began to deviate from what he was legally allowed to film it led to lawsuits, NSNA only got made because McClory basically handed over all control of the film to other people including Jack Schwartzman. McClory talked the talk but could never walk the walk and if he even made any serious attempts do another Bond film in the late 90s it would have just let to more lawsuits which he couldn't afford especially against Eon's millions.
