One thing I didn't like about this film
How could Bobby's character not be popular with the women? The character's looks alone would have women all over him. He wouldn't have had any trouble with the ladies.

sharea lot of teen sex/comedy/ dramas from the 80's always seemed to cast a really handsome male for the lead or two for that matter. and then have a crispin glover who looks very average at least to holliwood standards.
your right about it being annoying the male model type who gets with any women at will. it does seem very unrealistic. they should have casted an average dude with a lot of character and confidence to help him get with women.

I think you ANSWERED THE QUESTION.
Most male leads are going to be the next young man groomed for stardom, and bring in audiences. In this case, it didnt' work.
The thing I liked the least about this film was that they really didn't show Matt naked. They could've at least shown his butt (what you usually get from males in most movies anyway). Zilch. Nada.
Imagine my surprise when I finally got to watch George Cukor's last film RICH & FAMOUS starring Candice Bergen & Jacqueline Bisset the other day. Matt was in it. Full naked posterior shot. About a second of frontal. BiNgO!
;)
No matter how the male lead looks, it seems most of the 80's comedies had the female leads wanting/dating a college guy.
shareBobby is the classic case of great product horrible sales pitch. Women can smell zero confidence a mile away. He just needed a boost in that department

Fast Times at Ridgemont High's Linda (Phoebe Cates nee Katz)the stereotypical High School supporting girl character dating a much older man. Always subtly jabbing at High School boy's for their lack of sexual endurance and immaturity in general.

I always enjoy it when idiots like you are out in public. Why in any world would you think "boys" would need an apostrophe? You've never heard of plural?
Did you learn nothing when you were 12 years old?
Excelt Linda was herself a snooty stuck up snob, typical high school girl. The tutor in this movie was 29.

I was always considered a "good looking" guy but I wasn't by any means popular in school and didn't get tons of chicks, I have had flings with older women and dated a few, I am kinda glad I didn't date those girls in HS, they all were immature and older women just appeal to me more.
Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours
I didn't like the fact this movie followed many others and just showed boobs. Now don't get me wrong. Boobs are nice but you rarely see bush. Check out Revenge of the Cheerleaders if you can find a copy. It stars a young David Hasselhoff (his name in the movie is Boner!) There's a nice scene where two lovely girls are taking a stroll fully nude and are stopped by a cop.

Long live the 70s!
Ah . . . yeah. Something tells me scoring chicks was NOT "Mr. Olivia Newton-John's" biggest problem in life. He would've been VERY experienced by that point.

I was thinking the same thing. Bobby would've been SWIMMING in puzzy. Swoon!
