Hamburger Wellington
I wonder what the rest of the recipe was for the Groundbeef/Hamburger Wellington that the laid-off auto engineer was talking about. I love groundbeef wellington! Jack started to write it down, and all we got was; take some ground beef 'lean and mean, very lean' and cook it in butter, a lot of butter...' I sure would like to know what the rest of it is.
I make a good Hamburger Wellington by the way.
I take a little over a pound of lean ground beef (90%) and mix it with a teaspoon of mustard, onion soup mix, and some pepper. I shape the beef into 4 oval patties and fry them (in Butter!) til they are lightly browned on each side. Then I'll let em cool off. I'll take some uncooked crescent rolls and on one side brush with Ketchup. Then i'll wrap each pattie, ketchup side down (against the beef). Put on a baking sheet and brush the top with egg. bake at 350 for 20 minutes. I like to top with a beef or mushroom gravey.
Enjoy!
