Exploding pasta.

I'm fairly certain it was in Mr. Mom, but I saw it quite a few years ago.
He is cooking and throws what looks like pasta into a pan and it explodes into something that looks like a porcupine. Fast. A couple of seconds.
Does anyone know what that stuff was?
Thanks, Jeff

It was on like TBS or TNT last night and I watched it....I asked the same question aloud, and the answer I got was it's "rice noodles." They're flat when they're dry and as soon as they hit water, they poof out exponentially. I was wondering the same thing....

They're actually Thai rice noodles (or Saifun noodles). Put them in hot peanut oil and they blow up like that. They are a lot of fun to make and very tasty. You can buy them in any grocery store.
