WHAT?!?! anyone else notice?

at the end when the wife gets home, keaton is in the bathroom and the woman is on the bed, he is listing a-z why and why not to sleep with the woman... the wife comes in and confronts the woman... then he comes out of the bathroom, says the wrong name and the wife is laying on the bed....so clearly this implies that he already did or was going to sleep with the woman...(he thinks she slept with her boss or whatever, ok i get it)
but my point is that they all have to run downstairs as the repair men and the couples bosses are there. the wifes boss admits that he got fresh and she punched him and quit the job... here is where i have a problem, the woman from the bedroom is gone, vanished. the family sits down and cuddles and thats the end of the movie. what... did the wife forget that had just happened? even if the woman denied it before she ran off, wouldnt the wife still be like wtf?
i have seen this movie a million times all through my life and this is the 1st time i was like 'um...wait a minute" i know its just a movie and a damn good one at that, but jeez its like he got his closure about her NOT cheating on him and she just seems to forget what just happened without any 'no honey i swear we didnt'and everyone is happy.

Agree but mostly all movies from the 1983 area are still influenced by guys rule and chicks suck. So I doubt the people making the movie mostly men could had cared less how she dealt with him nearly bangin' that broad, and honestly chicks were so domesticated and faithful to the family (more so than dudes) so, I'm sure that played a role.

not sure how you jumped to that conclusion.. when he got to "Z" he said "you're not gonna do anything, because you, my friend, are in love with your wife".. so not only did he not sleep with her.. he had no intention of sleeping with her either

as far as his wife getting closure about him not cheating on her.. chalk it up to a minor detail that didn't really need to be shown to be accepted

He was not going to sleep with Joan at all. But the way that Carole dismissed that Joan was in their bedroom , she should have brought it up again after they had the confrontation with Richardson and Jinx. I think the beauty of it was that Carole really did trust Jaq/Jack and she did not want to pursue it any further.

Joan was an alley cat. I'm sure everyone knew. I also think that jack was trusted enough to jump the line.
