The one scene that I always remembered

I saw this movie for the first time as a teen and I loved it then, but I didn't really remember much of the movie over the years. The scene where he decides to get out of the rut and clean himself up and which ends with him burning his flannel shirt always stuck in my mind though.

For years after that until right now when I rewatched it for the first time in about 15-20 years, whenever I decided to change something about myself, lose weight or quit smoking or cut down on my drinking or spend more time with my daughter, that scene with Keaton standing in front of the fireplace and throwing in his shirt always popped into my mind.

That became a sort of symbol for me of turning over a new leaf.

I don't know why that scene especially stuck with me so much.
