Catholic families are the biggest?

I thought this was the funniest part of the movie, because it was way off. Not so much that Catholics aren't baby factories, but because Mormons are mentioned as better practicers of birth control.

Obviously the film makers weren't acquainted with Mormons (even though they mention them), or the ones in Britain don't have as many kids as the ones in the States. Muslims are pretty much anti-birth-control as well. The protestant depiction was pretty accurate though. Most of the Christian population decline in the west is coming from Protestants. I live in hardcore Southern Baptist country, and few Baptist families have over 2 or 3 kids. I was always an oddball with 9 siblings growing up. The "minimum" # of children for families in my LDS (Mormon) ward seemed to be like 4 (no, nothing like that is actually enforced...). I did know of some huge Catholic families though.

When they mentioned Mormons in the song 'Every Sperm is Sacred', I don't think they were especially singling them out as condom-wearing, French-tickling, illicit sex maniacs, but it was more to fill out the end of a lyric. They are mentioned, alongside Hindus and Daoists, simply because they are something other than Catholic. It's nothing personal, it's just satire.

But the Protestants, however, they had it coming.

If you were offended in any way by the preceding post, go make one yourself.

I just thought it funny because Mormons are like the most famous religion for having a bunch of children, at least in the US. The Utah people per household average is like 1 whole person over the US average, according to the most recent census.

I don't know, made sense to me. I can think of at least Catholic female friends who have literally been either pregnant or in labor for the entirety of their marriage (albeit only 3-4 year long marriages for each).

In my country roman catholicism is the major religion (any other religions are just very small minorities) and I don't know any family with more than two kids, maybe three at the very best. I see large families only on TV in programs on big families or on the poor (typically it means the same); big families are a big rarity. In the village my grandparents lived in, one family had 4 children and it was already a lot for me. I knew once a girl who had 4 or 5 siblings (I don't remember exactly). I also was in one class with two girls from large families, like around 8-9 kids and though they weren't pathological families, they were poor and those kids had poor marks and established a bad reputation for themselves.

Edit: I just recalled one girl from my college who had 4 siblings (a normal family, no pathology this time) but that's all I remember.
