Who else saw Michael Caine in this?

In the Zulu war segment, as John Cleese and the other British military officers are going over to see Eric Idle about his bite, you see Michael Caine as the first of the wounded soldiers telling them about the battle. It was something I had to go back and watch a few more times before I was sure, but it was him!

reply

The one lying on his back on the wagon as they walk out of the tent, it looks like him alright.

reply

Yeah, I was thinking the same, so I came here to check if he was in it or not, but as it's not marked in his filmography does anyone know for certain?

reply

I just watched the film after a long time the since previous viewing and don't know if I've ever thought of it but this time I also thought it was him.

reply

Wow. I never noticed him in that scene. But I did notice him in the Every Sperm Is Sacred scene playing the groom. But I wasn't sure but I am now.

reply

Woah, well spotted - I would never have caught that!! How funny that they don't mention it in trivia. It's got to be him, hasn't it. He's not the bridegroom though.

reply

It would make sense that he was in the zulu scene since one of Caine's first major starring roles was in the film Zulu.

"You waited 40 days to cry."

Did anyone else recognize Michael Caine in the ZULU segment? He was in the wagon with the spear trough his gut. "All this killing, bloodshead. Bloody good fun, sir, isn't it?". Said same/similar line in ZULU (1964). If you do send add to credit and or trivia.

reply

How cool, I did not see him at all!

I sure be paying attention next time I watch the movie!

Is he credited for this role? I doubt it, but im not sure!

When I first saw this thread, I thought that there's no way that could be right, as there's no credit of him anywhere. But upon seeing it again I think you may be right.

reply

No it isn't him. Similar: an extra cast with that line possibly because he looks a little like Caine, but also just as likely a coincidence. No, I think the truth is, it's 100% definitely NOT Caine (in my humble, falible opinion).

It's not him in the church during Every Sperm is Sacred either...

reply

Nope its not Michael Caine in the Zulu segment nor is he the groom in 'Every Sperm'

reply

Caine is definitely not in this film, its just an urban myth thought up by someone who thought it would be funny if he was, because of the Zulu sequence. The groom looks like Eric Idle to me.

reply

I don't think there is anything definite but I'm 99% sure that Michael Caine does indeed cameo in the film. What's bizarre is that imdb has his appearance listed in the film's TRIVIA section but does not have him listed in the cast. I've tried adding him (fruitlessly), but seriously, which way is it? Either he needs to be added to the cast or removed from the trivia.
