MacIntyre and Knopfler

MacIntyre is of Hungarian descent, but his parents chose MacIntyre as their 'new' surname only because they thought it sounded more 'American'. It is because of his name that he is assigned to Scotland.

Mark Knopfler composed the music for Local Hero, and he is of Hungarian descent (his father's side), and was born in Scotland.

It may simply be coincidence, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Forsyth chose to make MacIntyre Hungarian because of this.

Well, Forsyth might have already written Local Hero before Knopfler signed on.
But I don't know for sure.
Regardless, it sure is an interesting coinky-dink.
