I was there last weekend and driving around the area. I couldn't have been more surprised to find myself a mere 69 miles from Pennan in a village called...... Ferness. Its not on the coast and nothing like fictional Ferness, but its rather a big coincidence!
shareYes indeed, & there is also a Glen of Ferness, near Drumnadrochit, where we find Glenurqhart School & Urquhart Castle! Maybe Bill knows that area well & borrowed some names? He seemed to like doing subtle stuff with names: for example, Marina & Stella, considering the film's themes. Was there an Olive in it? Not that I know of, and anyway that wouldn't be so subtle.
