Either my husband and I are crazy, or there is another version of this film. The one WE remember has Mac sleeping with Stella (because her husband was infertile or something), and fell in love with her. We remember dialog between Mac and Stella at the Caelie.
If anyone else remembers this, PLEASE let us know! We just watched it again, and it seems like the version we saw tonight was missing something (see above).

You're either thinking of some other movie or some dream one of you had.
I had a similar thing with "She's Having a Baby" where I think I supplanted another storyline into my memory.
The thing between Mac and Stella has always intrigued me though. It is clear there is a mutual attraction that concerned me at first, would it cause trouble for them and for Urqhart?
Wathcing it again this weekend, many years hence, I now understand Urqhart's character more. He's so laid back and confidant, to me he's well aware there is a mutual attraction but know's Stella would never stray, their marriage is so strong and that it doesn't matter if they meet other people they fancy from time to time. Its all very mature and part of the wonderful characterisations that the film brings.
