The great shark reveal...

How lame was that? We all know what a great white looks like. During the scene where the woman is describing how big a shark with the bite raiud they find on Overman's body must be, we see several shots of the sharks back and sides but not its face. Then of course it swims to where all the people are dining, and we see it staring at them. We see its face finally, and it looks like every other great white shark in the world. Were we supposed to expect it to have Groucho Marx's face or something? The screenwriters for this movie had no idea of how to build or maintain suspense if this lame scene was their idea for how to achieve that goal.

Carthago delenda est.

Mind you, if it DID have Groucho's face, Jaws 3D would have been a much better movie.

I agree 100% on that remark

hahaha!

I think it was the SIZE of the shark that made it unique and scary. If I was in the water with THAT shark my heart would stop lol

I thought it looked more like a stuffed shark you might get at the fair.

reply

Haha yes! Then it opens its mouth and growls!

I wonder what The Revenge shark would have looked like in that dark water.

It's definitely the size of the Mother that was the build up. We see many MUCH smaller sharks out the aquarium window when the 4 are talking. Thusly the emergence of a 35 foot monster is striking and startling. I actually enjoy how it happens right as they put two and two together. The tension accelerates and all hell breaks loose. 

Come, Fly the teeth of the wind! 

The thing about this shark was how it was supposed to be some massive 35 foot one, making it nearly twice as big as the ones from the first two movies.

Problem is...everytime we see it with a human it doesn't look very big at all.

The reveal would've looked better if they'd shows the characters looking at a massive creature outside in the water instead of us just seeing its face.

To be fair, it did look pretty damn big with the Australian in its mouth.

How they did the reveal was well done. The shark looks good...but it seems to be the slowest moving shark of the whole series. And, she can swim backwards.

I think we've got another shark problem. 

It was a great reveal.
