Expectation

This may be the worst movie I have ever seen, compared to my high expectations for the film. Especially considering quality actors such as Louis Gossett and Dennis Quaid were in the film.

Triple Amen to that. The effects alone were insultingly bad, even in 3-D, and they look even worse in "normal" viewing mode. The Gossett character was a moron, even though the actor himself is far from it. The rest of the acting was okay, except for some of the "bit" players, but even decent acting couldn't save this disaster from its own catastrophic unfolding. Universal should have disowned and canceled it, just based on the dailies...

It's not a perfect movie but the worst you've ever seen? I've heard a lot of bad things about them so my expectations weren't very high. Therefore my expectations were exceeded. It's not great but not as bad as many people say.

I agree. Just saw this on TCM tonight and enjoyed it. I heard that it was a HORRIBLE movie so I was expecting it to be, but it was pretty enjoyable. The special effects are SO bad that they're good. The story was good, acting and dialogue ok...most of the characters were pretty likable.

5/10

I think I first saw this as a kid. My only expectations crushed were that I didn't like it as much as the first two. But the film has grown on me. For some time I had forgotten Dennis Quaid was even in it.

Batman and Robin might get my vote..

It's a masterpiece compared to Jaws: The Revenge.

Not to mention being written by Richard Matheson.

It's bad, but nowhere near as bad as Jaws The Revenge. That one is legitimately among the worst movies of all time. Jaws 3 just sucks.

Jaws The Revenge was freaking hilarious. A giant shark that roars like a lion, who spends most of its time above the water line. Classic cheese.
