Who has been to Sea World in FL?
I know that this film was shot at Sea World, but does anyone know if the REAL Sea World is built alongside the ocean, as it is portrayed in the movie?
shareI was just at Sea World a couple of weeks ago. It's in Orlando (FL) so there is definitely no sea access to the park. I didn't recognize anything at the current Sea World that appears in the movie outside of interior shots of the main stadium for the whale shows (I didn't go into the undersea part).
I, too, am wondering where the scenes were shot that seem to show the ocean. The IMDb shooting locations don't indicate any coastal places although they do list Universal-owned property (probably land that would become part of Universal Studios, but that wasn't even built in 1983). There are a lot of lakes in the area and it is possible that they just filmed the "sea" scenes on a lake and blue-screened the rest. That would seem to make the most sense.
