Why do most think this is better than the first?

i think the character development is better in the 3rd than in the first
you are given more people to care about, which makes the tension rise with each scene
some knock the effects but I think they are the best of the series

Anyone who tells you Jaws 3D is better than the original Jaws is a complete and utter moron and their opinion should be instantly discarded.

Jaws 3-D and its awful ugly and grainy photography, horrible blue screen fx, cheesy score, hilarious slo mo facial reactions as the shark approaches the glass with no movement and no sense of size perception, etc is better than 1?

While I love it for nostalgia purposes and a great laugh, the movie was horribly made.

The shark model was never used to its potential, it was horribly lit, the shark was sluggish and slow, hardly ate anybody, and it didnt even breach the surface lame! (Except when attacking Kelly and NOT killing her).

The ending was ridiculous. The dolphins lived! Too bad Calvin Bouchard is gonna get his ass handed to him in court and people died.

However there are so many hilarious lines.

"For Christ sakes Governah, remember Australia". (Me and my co worker will occasionaly say that randomly at work for no reason lol)

"He can take a leap at a rolling donut on a gravel driveway!"

"I dont mean him any harm ya hear!"

"You talkin about some damn sharks motha!"

"Its a game of balance!"

"Move da fish".

"Daddy look at the fish"! "Holy *beep*

and my personal fav:
"Tube Integrity Compromised!" (Which is what I will title my autobiography).
