One of Cushing's worst films

That and Tendre Dracula.

But how did House of the Long Shadows get such a high rating? It's dire. Badly written and ineptly acted.

I rated it a '1'.

Peter Cushing always rated 'The Blood Beast Terror' as one of his worst films.

Cushing never really made a bad film, I watched nearly all of them after coming home from the pub as a teenager. They always used to show a Hammer Horror around 12pm on a Friday night, and I loved them all. Now I'm in my late 30's nostalga will always over come any shortcomings they might have.

From Beyond the Grave is probably one of his best, and Dracula AD 72 one of the most campy, Christopher Lee is awesome in that mind :)

the "acting" by Desi Arnaz and Julie Peasgood was dreadful. The rest of the cast were splendid.

Yes, I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to cast Desi Arnaz. He really hurt the film. Putting him with such an esteemed cast only showcased how bad he is.

You might be missing the subtlety of Cushing's performance of an actor performing. 😊
