Surprisingly still holds up well. Good memories.
Who would’ve thought that I would still find something new in this movie after watching it 30 years later again? Apparently I only had seen a bootleg version.
Now after seeing it again after so many years I noticed immediately that two scenes stood out for me with the gore I never seen before. I’m talking about the chatty town-folk getting his head ripped off by the company goons. And one obnoxious woman whose curiosity got her killed in the motel. Especially the aftermath scene where her face got melted/zombified. That is a pretty disturbing scene, so effective as it was to me before, but now as I saw it again, I remember really well that her disfigured face wasn’t shown in the version I’ve seen.
On a side note here’s a fun fact. One time I learned of this movie by accident in my geography class from my teacher. This teacher was cool because she used to tell us about American movies in class which for the most part we could only learn from her. We were like in 5-6 grade. She would tell play-by-play the whole movie from start to finish with so much enthusiasm and excitement that everyone would listen in awe. Oh, man, that did sound pretty good back then.
