Hello all, In one of Eddie Murphy's routines (either 'delirious' or 'raw')he say's at one point "old people that get offended easily....ya'll should get the *beep* out now." Can someone please tell me if it was from 'delerious' or 'raw' and at what point he say's it.
Much appreciated if anyone knows and Thanks in advance.
You can download Eddie Murphy's "Comedian" album, I don't care where from, and the first track, "F*gg*ts Revisited/ Sexual Prime" contains both the old people and buckwheat lines.
I have no idea if they are on the DVD or not. A little C4, knockin' at your door.
Thanks, i have heard it before on delirious, but the version i have got hasnt got that line in it so i dont know at what point he says it.
I just need to know where abouts Eddie says it....obviousley he says it in the full version or whatever version you want to call it, so if any one has that version could you let me know whereabouts it is by telling me the joke before for instance?!!
The Delirious DVD was recorded on August 17, 1983 at Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. You heard the old people comment on the "Delirious album version" which is called "Eddie Murphy Comedian." This album is comprised of various performances of his Delirious tour; they just took all his best performances of his tour and spliced them together on one album. The Constitution Hall night was recorded specifically for home video, whereas the rest of the tour was never taped to be televised. 95% of that very Eddie Murphy Comedian album is directly lifted from the DVD version taped at Constitution Hall. When HBO originally showed Delirious, it was slightly edited to fit into an hour time frame, instead of the original 70 minutes.
If you notice, when Eddie Murphy does his "slave routine," where he talks about bailing hay for the master, the routine is slightly different on the album than it is on the DVD.
There was never a "video moment" where you actually SEE Eddie do the old people comment, because it was never recorded for television. You only heard him say it on the album.
Hope this info helps. Sorry if I come off as an Eddie Murphy freak, but I am.
"I fulfilled a lot of people's predictions about me. I've become a real scumbag."
You have never seen a tape of Eddie doing the, "Old people who get offended easily..." line.
You heard it on the album--right alongside the "fagots ain't allowed to look at my ass.." line--during the Rules of Stand-up bit, then you saw Eddie do the Rules of Stand-up bit with the "fagots ain't allowed to look at my ass..", and in your mind you put the two together, and believe that you remember seeing him say the Old People line.
It's a false memory...it's called conflation.
I had the same incorrect recollection, until I dug out my tape of Eddie Murphy Comedian, listened, and then it all came back to me.
