The father returned home from the farmers meeting to be greeted by transients camping on his property, one of whom shot him dead.

Did the brandishing of the knife by the man who shot him suggest they intended to eat him?

Though it doesn't bear thinking about, what do you think became of the mother and the youngest daughter?

And what of the Eldest daughter Denise, did she live to leave the University campus with Steven and her younger brother to venture home? And the horror of what they might find if they actually made it there is so sad.

You are asking questions about a fictional story. Nothing was ever filmed or discussed about the familys fate. Are you under the impression that this was a true story?

Yes. I assumed this was actual footage of WW3.

Clearly there was no way I intended to engage in speculative conversation about characters in a fictional movie, purely for the sake of any interest that may be shared by others in the developed and invested characters and the emotionally charged story.

No, you're right. I thought it was real. That's why I asked. Silly me.

Yea, obviously no one could answer any questions about their fate unless there was also a book based on this story. And there was no book.

You mean to tell me that as much of a cultural event this show was, that nobody watched the episode of Talking The Day After when it finished airing? How is anybody supposed to understand the inane plot and ridiculous nonsense driving it without watching the aftershow?

[editor's note] This is a sarcastic jab at The Talking Dead, which was often cited on the IMDb forums for explanation of the obscenely dumb shit that occurred on that show on a regular basis.

It was my understanding that everyone was dying and for those we didn't actually witness their death....it was only a matter of time.
