There's a far greater chance of "The Day After" becoming a reality with the disgrace that is Obamateur in the White House than if McCain/Palin had won. His weakness, naivety, and support for appeasement are exponentially more likely to embolden enemies and invite the kind of belligerence that would spark a nuclear war. "Peace through strength," the truest maxim in international relations, is a concept that eludes Obamateur's very meager mind.

It's very interesting to look at a comment like this over seven years later. Because of the weak leadership of the current apologist administration, entities that do not have America's best interests in mind have become emboldened to threaten us at every turn. This administration has weakened the United States' standing in the world by failing to lead, instituting misguided policies, and embarking on dangerous military budget cuts, all the while driving up the national debt to unfathomable levels by spending on unnecessary programs. Just because someone is the President, it does not make them an expert, and smarmy responses, as well as promises you cannot deliver on do not help the situation. Here are two examples:
1. February 23, 2009. President Obama states: "Today I'm pledging to cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office. Now, this will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we've long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay. I will be held accountable. If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition." When President Obama took office, the national debt was 10.6 trillion dollars. Given his pledge, that number should have been down to 5.3 trillion dollars by the last day of his first term in January of 2013. Well, it wasn't - it had increased to 16.4 trillion dollars. He then went on to his second term, and as of today the national debt is over 18.6 trillion dollars, and he wants to raise the debt ceiling even further.
2. October 22, 2012. Third Presidential debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney. While discussing United States relations with Russia, Romney commented: "Russia is a geopolitical foe, and Iran is the greatest national security threat we face. Russia does continue to battle us in the U.N. time and time again." Instead of constructively engaging Romney on the issue, President Obama smugly retorted: "Mitt, The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War’s been over for 20 years!", to the laughter of the amused audience. Who's laughing now? Because of President Obama's disrespect and disregard for Russia (and Putin) over the course of his Presidency, we now find ourselves at odds with them on many issues, when in fact we should be cooperating with them to defeat a common enemy that wants to destroy both of our societies.
