Region Free DVD coming to UK in April!

Blackhorse Entertainment will be giving Curtains the DVD treatment in the UK, but it's region free, so you can import it anyway.

The movie will sadly be bare bones, but the print will probably be remastered, so that's a HUGE plus.

i don't know if the print will be remastered by it will be fullscreen. That is truly sad news. Not to be pessimistic but I really don't think it will be much better than a VHS

Well, let's look at it this way - anything is better than the HTF OOP VHS. Sometimes you have to see the good in things even if it isn't immediately obvious.

Just got finished watching it. There is no doubt this is a simple transfer from a VHS source. You can see tracking and skips from time to time. Also, as if that wasn't bad enough, it's quite dark in certain areas. I guess I shouldn't complain, just bummed is all.

I'm shocked. A transfer from a VHS source sounds like a pirate to me - a cheapo one at that!

Unfortunately, a lot of these older films, especially horror films, are not held in high regard so that is why they don't put much time or effort and more importantly for the studios, money, into making a good DVD for them. I think there should be some sort of inspection that DVD's need to pass before they are released to the public. I'm sorry, it's highway robbery when a DVD looks the same as it did on VHS. It's not right. A DVD should be superior quality regardless. Atlantis did the same thing with Prom Night with it's 2004 release. If you can get your hands on the 1998 Anchor Bay copy, it's very good quality! I'm actually hoping Anchor Bay releases Curtains here in the US. They always do a great job with their releases.
