Saw Curtains (1983) for 1st time on Big Screen ... Blah!!

I went to a midnight screening of "Prom Night" (1980) (Not the crappy remake!) on 04/16/20010, & as a "Mystery" double-feature,the movie theater showed this rare horror film called: Curtains (1983)!

I'm a huge horror fan, I grew up in the 80's with slasher flicks I.E. Friday the 13th (1980), Black Christmas (1974), My Bloody Valentine (1981), etc. But I never heard of Curtains (1983) till last night.

I even took a horror film course in film school, & this is 1 film tht wsn't even talked about, & this was back in 2000-2001!

The Prowler (1981)I would have to say would be more "Obscure" than Curtains (1983)!

Very strange film! Didn't make a lot of sense! Very convoluted plot, with bad acting and editing!

Interesting plot set up, but just badly directed!

Towards the end of the film the audience was laughing!

The plot:

Samantha Sherwood has worked with the well-known director Jonathan Stryker on all his major films. She naturally assumes she has been given the title role in his latest venture, "Audra". He tells her that she nn needs to do some background research on the part, so arranges to have her committed to an asylum (as Audra is a former psychiatric patient). She goes along with this, not realising that he intends to leave her there indefinitely and audition six young women of various professions for the part instead.

Curtains (1983) Canadian horror film.

Though a fairly obscure film, Curtains has gained some underground cult status among fans of the slasher film genre, many of whom cite the 'ice skating' murder scene as the film's memorable highlight.

The film was relatively obscure until word of mouth among horror fans developed interest in the film again.

What exactly is so convoluted about the plot? I thought it made perfect sense. Sure some of it is illogical and far-fetched but it's a horror movie....

By the way what a fun double feature, both of those flicks have great chase scenes. How was the quality though??

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here
