The UK version I hear isn't worth it. Very poor quality. Was probably just copied from a used VHS tape. I have emailed Anchor Bay on this, but there is always a delay in getting a response. I am certain that Lionsgate owns the rights. The VHS was released by Vestron Video and if you check Wikipedia, Vestron's library was acquired by Lionsgate. Most of it. I just send Lionsgate a message today to see if they can confirm.
shareSo Lionsgate replied and said they don't have the rights to distribute this title. So not sure if they own it or not. Maybe they own it but can't get music clearance or something. Or maybe they don't own it at all. Ill see what Anchor Bay comes back with.
shareThat would be amazing. If Anchor Bay in fact has the rights, that would make my day. All I have is a DVD of the film in a bad VHS quality. This classic needs to be on DVD with the Anchor Bay treatment.
shareI also e-mailed Anchor Bay about this, and I added a few suggestions for DVD releases (suggested American/Canadian releases for Twisted Nerve (1968) and Remember My Name (1978), and a better release (if they can get the rights) of The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane (1976) with special features/extras)
If all else fails, someone should contact Blue Underground or Code Red DVD.
I LOVE The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane and can see Anchor Bay distributing this, but I don't think they'll spend much time or money on special features. Jodie Foster I hear isn't particularly fond of the film so she probably wouldn't be involved which is a shame.
shareI believe MGM owns the rights to this. They've always been kind of heinous when it comes to some of their older titles, so I wouldn't hold my breath (I'm still waiting for Hospital Massacre, as well).
shareMGM is also in a huge financial crisis, so they'll have to hand off the rights to a new company. They have also put many of their upcoming films (including a James Bond sequel and a Red Dawn remake) on hold.
shareI found this at Walmart for $5.It's a 4 movie set(double sided disc)with:Hoboken Hollow,Secrets of the Clown and Room 33.The set is called The Midnight Horor Collection:Bloody Slashers.Curtains is fullscreen. It's not the greatest looking print but I can't complain for $5.
