That In the opening, Samantha Sherwood says in her monolouge how she wanted to kill her lover she found in bed with another person and she pulls the trigger...and then later she shoots Stryker and Brook Parson because she found
'her' lover in bed with anoter woman (Parsons)

That's not ironic. It's foreshadowing - and because of that opening scene, I knew Sherwood was going to shoot him at some point in the movie.
